Fred Warner is revealing who’s actually behind styling his game-day outfits.
In an interview with PEOPLE about his partnership with KAY Jewelers, the San Francisco 49ers player, 27, shares how his wife, Sydney, often helps him pick out his attire for game day.
“My wife usually is the one that dresses me in a lot of these things,” Fred tells PEOPLE. “But I try to keep things formal for away games with a suit look. And then at home games, it’s more of an upscale casual feel.”
“But I try to do whatever allows me to feel comfortable and confident going into the game,” he adds.

Fred, who’s currently expecting a baby boy with Sydney, adds how for the Super Bowl — which airs on Feb. 11 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas — he has an extra special outfit planned. (He wouldn’t disclose any major details except for KAY Jewelers hoop earrings that are part of his collection.)
He says of the look: “It’s another suit and it’s something that I’m trying to keep as a little bit of a surprise to everyone, but it’ll be something that’s a really good look and I’m excited to wear it.”
Aside from helping with his outfits, Fred says that Sydney, who was recently cleared to fly to the Super Bowl at 35 weeks pregnant, has been his biggest support system.
“She’s always keeping me grounded in terms of just keeping things in perspective,” the linebacker says. “She’s eight months pregnant right now with our firstborn son, so that’s something that I’m trying to balance. I’m making sure I’m giving her what she needs as well as preparing for the Super Bowl.”
He continues: “So it’s just a really special time in both of our lives.”
The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers will face off in Super Bowl LVIII, airing on CBS on Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
