Thurman Thomas is asking for prayers for his family.
The Pro Football Hall of Famer who played for Buffalo from 1988-99 took to social media and announced that his mother’s battle with breast cancer came to a tragic end after she passed away.
“Please keep my family in your prayers. Recently, my mother’s breast cancer took an awful turn. I’m very sad to say that she lost her battle yesterday,” Thomas wrote on Twitter. “For all of you that knew her, thank you for being part of her wonderful life. You were the best mom to me.”
The 56-year-old was born in Houston, Texas to his mother Terlisha and father Thurman Sr.
Thomas retired as the NFL’s ninth-ranked rusher with 12,074 yards and added another 4,458 yards on 472 catches. He scored 65 rushing and 23 receiving touchdowns.
