The Times reported that FIFA is likely to place Inter Miami in Group A1 at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. This means they will avoid Real Madrid, Bayern or Man City early on.
According to FIFA’s explanation, this is the home team’s advantage. Inter Miami will likely also play the opening match of the tournament.
FIFA is also said to have announced Inter Miami’s participation last month to avoid the risk of the club failing to win the MLS. Despite the controversy surrounding the criteria for participation, FIFA wants Messi’s presence to attract sponsors.
