Actress Hailee Steinfeld, the fiancée of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, struggled to be “nice” when discussing the archrival Kansas City Chiefs.
Hailee Steinfeld has had a front-row seat to Josh Allen’s emergence as one of the top quarterbacks of his generation. But Allen’s strong regular-season success has not carried over to the postseason, with Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs eliminating Buffalo in the playoffs four of the last five years.
Steinfeld and Michael B. Jordan, co-stars in Ryan Coogler’s upcoming “Sinners” blockbuster film, took part in the popular “Hot Ones Versus” contest on YouTube.
In the video, Jordan challenged the 28-year-old Hailee Steinfeld to upset Bills fans by naming three good things about the Chiefs. Steinfeld, however, was careful to not overly praise the rival team:
“I can find nice things to say about anybody, even if I don’t like them — even if we don’t like them. Yellow and red really complement them all pretty well. They are very loud… it’s great, you want that from a fanbase….They go hard for their team.”
I suppose those count as “nice things,” but you can praise any sports team over their colors plus the fan energy and support. But one can also understand why Hailee Steinfeld doesn’t want to show much love toward the archenemy team that has broken her man’s heart four times now.
Josh Allen has won his last four regular season games against the Chiefs, including three at Arrowhead Stadium. But Kansas City defeated Buffalo in the 2020 AFC Championship Game, the 2021 and 2023 Divisional Round contests and this year’s AFC title game.
Perhaps Allen’s time to reach the mountaintop will come one day. Odds are, however, that he’ll have to get through Mahomes and the Chiefs first.

According to multiple reports, Steinfeld and Allen began dating in May 2023. The two became engaged this past November after 18 months of dating. Steinfeld was previously in a one-year relationship with One Direction member Niall Horan.
